According to the Canadian Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). CCS reports that (in 2009) 22,700 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,400 will die of it.

Walkers, joggers, cyclists paused to support the women in their fight to make these statistics history.

Spirit Abreast, Abreast with FORTitude, Pink Pirates of the Pacific – one after the other team tents told the tales in a list of one-liners on t-shirts and tent banners from across the Lower Mainland. Courage, determination, humour and support were in evidence everywhere. If you want to help the gals float those boats, support the many breast cancer research fundraising events whereever you live.
